The International Expert Group on Biotechnology, Innovation and Intellectual Property released the data that underlies its analyses in October 2008 at a launch event in Washington DC. The data is available for others to use for non-commercial purposes provided that the work is attributed to the International Expert Group. If the data is modified in any way, users will be required to make such changes explicit in any further release of the data with a note that the changes have not been validated by the International Expert Group.
