The Secretary's Advisory Committee on Genetics, Health, and Society (SACGHS) releases report citing work of International Expert Group

On February 5, 2010, SACGHS released a draft report assessing the positive and negative effects of gene patenting and licensing practices on patient and clinical access to genetic tests and on the public's health and quality of life. This report, which will be sent to the Secretary of Health and Human Services, incorporates the work of The International Expert Group on Biotechnology, Innovation and Intellectual Property. In particular, it references the Myriad Genetics case study written by TIP President Richard Gold and TIP Expert Julia Carbone.
